Connect your agent to Blocko
Blocko runs a public, read-only MCP server. No login, no API key. Point your agent at the URL, then ask it to find and install sections.
https://blocko.ai/mcpTools: list_themes, search_items, get_item, get_item_source, get_install_guide. Setup steps were reviewed on 2026-10-07; client menus change, so follow the labels you see.
ChatGPT (web and desktop) from official or vendor docs
ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers as custom connectors. This needs Developer mode, which OpenAI offers on paid plans; menu names change, so follow the labels you see.
- Open Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Back in Connectors, choose Create.
- Name it Blocko, paste the server URL below, and set Authentication to No authentication.
- Tick the box that you trust the connector, then Create. Start a new chat and enable Blocko from the tools menu.

Unverified. We could not find documentation that lets a merchant add an arbitrary remote MCP server to Shopify's Sidekick; Shopify extends Sidekick through app extensions that app developers build. Check Sidekick's settings for a custom connector option, and if it is not there, use one of the alternatives below.
- Best alternative: connect Blocko to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex (below), ask the agent to install the section into your theme, then review it in the Theme Editor.
- Or open an item in the library, copy its one-line prompt, and paste it into any coding agent.
https://blocko.ai/mcpIf Shopify adds custom MCP support to Sidekick, the server URL is the same as for every other client.
Claude (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, claude.ai) from official or vendor docs
Claude Code adds a remote server with one command. Claude Desktop and claude.ai use custom connectors.
- Claude Code: run the command below.
- Claude Desktop or claude.ai: open Settings, then Connectors, scroll down and choose Add custom connector, paste the server URL and add it. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector first.
claude mcp add --transport http blocko https://blocko.ai/mcp
# or add the Blocko plugin (skills for find, install and deploy)
claude plugin marketplace add blockoai/blocko && claude plugin install blocko-sections@blockoCustom connector URL: https://blocko.ai/mcp
Hermes Agent (Nous Research) from official or vendor docs
Hermes reads MCP servers from ~/.hermes/config.yaml and registers their tools at startup.
- Add the block below under mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml.
- Restart Hermes (or start a new session) so it discovers the Blocko tools.

OpenClaw keeps MCP servers in its registry; add Blocko as a streamable HTTP server.
- Run the command below.
- Check it with openclaw mcp show blocko --json.
openclaw mcp set blocko '{"url":"https://blocko.ai/mcp","transport":"streamable-http"}'Cursor from official or vendor docs
Add Blocko in Settings, then MCP, or edit .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (global).
- Paste the JSON below into mcp.json.
- Open Cursor's MCP settings and enable the blocko server.

}Codex CLI from official or vendor docs
Codex stores MCP servers in ~/.codex/config.toml; the CLI can write it for you.
- Run the command below, or add the TOML block to ~/.codex/config.toml.
- Start Codex and run /mcp to confirm the server is listed.
codex mcp add blocko --url https://blocko.ai/mcp
# or in ~/.codex/config.toml

VS Code reads MCP servers from .vscode/mcp.json (workspace) or your user profile. Note the root key is servers, not mcpServers.
- Create .vscode/mcp.json with the JSON below, or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette.
- Open Copilot Chat in Agent mode and enable the blocko tools.

}Any other MCP client from official or vendor docs
Blocko speaks standard MCP over streamable HTTP, with no authentication. Anything that can connect to a remote MCP server can use it.
- Add a remote (HTTP) server named blocko with the URL below. Config key names vary by client.
- To test without an agent, run the MCP Inspector and connect to the URL.

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspectorNo MCP? Paste the one-line prompt from official or vendor docs
Every item in the library has a single-line prompt that works in any coding agent that can read GitHub. Open an item, copy its prompt and paste it. This is an example:
Use the Blocko library (https://github.com/blockoai/blocko) to implement the section "FAQ accordion" into my project. Before changing any code, ask me where it should go and whether the target is a Shopify theme or a plain HTML site.Claude Code plugin
Prefer skills over a server? The plugin adds four skills: find items in the catalog, install a section or block, push a whole theme, and deploy the optional API Worker.
claude plugin marketplace add blockoai/blocko && claude plugin install blocko-sections@blockoWhat to ask
- "Which Blocko section fits an FAQ for a skincare store?"
- "Add the Blocko account sign-in section to my theme."
- "List Blocko pages that are ready as Shopify Liquid."
