Shopify sections your AI agent can actually install.
Blocko is an open-source library of Shopify Online Store 2.0 sections, blocks and page templates. One spec renders production Liquid and a plain HTML demo, and every item is published so agents can find it, read it and install it, over MCP, a plugin or a one-line prompt.

Why Blocko exists
Section libraries were built for people who browse screenshots and download zips. Agents do not browse. They need to know what an item is, what it needs, where its source lives and what to ask before touching a merchant's theme.
Blocko starts from that. Every section, block and page has a stable id, a description, a category, an industry, a settings schema, a demo and an honest status for each target. The library is generated, not hand-maintained, so the data an agent reads is the same data that produced the code.
Vision, mission and beliefs
Vision
Any storefront can be assembled from proven, well-described parts, by a person or by their agent, in an afternoon instead of a sprint.
Mission
Publish the best open library of Shopify sections and make it native to agents: discoverable, readable, installable and safe to drop into a live theme.
We believe
Software for merchants should be portable, fast and free of lock-in. Static sections should cost 0 KB of JavaScript. A gap should be labeled a gap. Agents deserve the same quality of documentation as people.
Built for agents
The core purpose of Blocko: an agent should be able to go from "I need an FAQ section" to a reviewed, installed section without a human copying files around.
MCP server
A public, read-only MCP server at https://blocko.ai/mcp. No login. Tools: list_themes, search_items, get_item, get_item_source, get_install_guide.
Claude Code plugin
One command adds skills that find items in the catalog, ask where they should go, then install a section, a block or a whole theme.
One-line prompts
Every item has a single paste-ready prompt. It points the agent at the repo, tells it to ask where the item goes and to follow the repo rules.
How Blocko is different
One spec, two outputs
A canonical spec renders Shopify Liquid and static HTML. No string-replace conversion, no two hand-written sources drifting apart.
Agent-native
MCP server, plugin and per-item prompts are first-class outputs, not an afterthought bolted onto a template gallery.
Portable by design
Scoped blko- classes and token fallbacks let a section drop into Dawn or any Online Store 2.0 theme without restyling the rest of the store.
0 KB JavaScript when static
Content is semantic HTML and Liquid. Only interactive sections load a small vanilla Custom Element. No framework, no CDN, no runtime from a third party.
Parity-tested
HTML and Liquid output are held to the same visual, responsive and accessibility bar, and gaps are reported in the catalog instead of hidden.
Open source and free
MIT licensed. Read it, fork it, ship it for clients. No account, no seat pricing.

Frequently asked questions
What is Blocko Sections?
Blocko Sections is an open-source library of Shopify Online Store 2.0 sections, blocks and complete page templates. Every item is generated from one typed specification and rendered twice: as production Liquid with a Theme Editor schema, and as a plain static HTML demo.
Is Blocko free?
Yes. Blocko is open source under the MIT license and free to use in personal, client and commercial projects. There is no account, no paywall and no usage cap.
Why is it built for agents?
Coding agents are now doing real storefront work, but most section libraries are screenshots and zip files. Blocko publishes every item as structured data with a stable id, a demo link, a settings schema and a one-line prompt, so an agent can discover the right section, read its source and install it without guessing.
How does my agent connect?
Three ways: the public MCP server at https://blocko.ai/mcp (no login), a Claude Code plugin, or a one-line prompt you paste into any coding agent. The Agents page has copy-paste setup for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex CLI, VS Code, Hermes Agent, OpenClaw and any other MCP client.
Which Shopify themes does it work with?
Sections are self-contained: scoped blko- CSS with design-token fallbacks, no framework and no CDN. They are meant to drop into any Online Store 2.0 theme, including Dawn. Complete Blocko themes can also be pushed to a store as an unpublished theme.
How much JavaScript do the sections ship?
Static sections ship 0 KB of JavaScript. Interactive ones use small vanilla Custom Elements, registered idempotently so they survive Theme Editor re-renders. No jQuery, React, Vue, Alpine or Tailwind runtime.
Is every item available as Shopify Liquid?
Not yet, and the catalog says so. Today 3141 of 3480 items across 15 themes ship as Liquid; the rest are listed as gaps with the reason (for example, needing a loyalty or subscription app). Nothing is faked: a gap is never presented as ready.
Can I use the HTML without Shopify?
Yes. Every item has a standalone HTML demo you can use for previews or on a plain site. The HTML and Liquid renderers share the same tokens and class names, so the two outputs stay visually in step.
Where is the source code?
The generated library, catalog.json and the Claude Code plugin are public at github.com/blockoai/blocko.
